Departments

The town of Elkton's Public Works department consists
of several subdivisions. Within these subdivisions, the public works
department is able to maintain and perform mostly all of its responsibilities.
All of our departments are equipped with individuals that have the necessary
skills and experience to perform their specific job assignments.
Inspection Department
Water
Department

The water department is initially responsible for all
the town owned water service lines almost 24 hours per day. Our water
department is also responsible for taking care of water service shut-off''s,
hydrant flushing, water main repairs, water service repairs, and manhole
replacements.
Sewer
Department

Our Sewer department is responsible for inspecting and
maintaining all of the sewer line systems within the town. The Sewer
Department is also in charge of responding to emergency sewer back-up
calls 24 hours a day.
Roads
Department

Our Roads Department is responsible for repairing potholes
and damaged asphalt due to concrete or water service repair. Our Roads
Department's initial goal is to repair damaged pavement as soon as it's
identified. Priority is given to target areas that affect drivers &
pedestrians, the rest of the damaged areas are placed within a work assignment
schedule.

Concrete
Department

The Concrete Department is responsible for maintaining
and repairing public sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and ramps. Since concrete
repair within the Town of Elkton is so great, our concrete department
has to adhere to a strict priority based schedule. The concrete department's
task consist of inspecting, removing and repairing damaged concrete

Vehicle
Maintenance Department

Our Auto department is responsible for repairing, upgrading
troubleshooting, and inspecting all of the vehicles &
machinery that the town uses to perform daily activies.
Sign Department

The sign department is responsible for repairing and maintaining all
of the town owned street signs, stop signs, no tresspassing signs, and
traffic diversion signs
